SOUTHEASTERN DATA AND COMSQUARED SYSTEMS JOINTLY DEVELOP INTEGRATED SOLUTIONS

Atlanta, Georgia - May 7, 2003 - Today, Southeastern Data Cooperative (SEDC) and Comsquared Systems, Inc. announced the joint development of several new integrated solutions designed to improve customer service, streamline accounts payable applications and offer unlimited report capturing capability for SEDC's utility customer base.

The integrated solutions directly benefit the users of SEDC's signature UPN® application, a new browser-based software solution designed to manage utility companies' customer and member information. Now, UPN users will be able to tie in to Comsquared's flagship UNISearch® software - an enterprise-class document imaging solution that allows electronic document and report capture over a LAN, WAN or the Internet.

The main benefits of the UPN/UNISearch® integration include:

  • Direct access from UPN to any documents stored on UNISearch®. Also includes access and storage ability for any UPN-generated report.
  • Capability to store unlimited months of UPN-generated cycle bills within UNISearch®.
  • Automatic turn-key A/P module using barcode technology with instant data exchange features with UPN.

Right now, the UPN and UNISearch® applications perform together, but these new features will significantly enhance the functionality of the solutions. Currently, end users operate each as a separate application to look up customer information and imaged reports and documents such as annual billing histories, service orders and customer correspondence. But, once the integration is complete at the end of June, users will be able to simultaneously pull up customer information and imaged documents from the same UPN screen.

"We're excited to provide these new capabilities to our customers, helping to make their business process more efficient," said Ron Camp, president and CEO for SEDC. "This integration will benefit our customers' outgoing member service efforts as well as their internal processes."

"With this new solution integration, SEDC and Comsquared continue to provide unparalleled service to SEDC customers," said Ron DeRosa, vice president of sales for Comsquared Systems. "As technology continues to evolve, so will the features and benefits of our applications."
