SOUTHEASTERN DATA AND COMSQUARED SYSTEMS JOINTLY DEVELOP INTEGRATED SOLUTIONS
ATLANTA, GA – (November 15, 2004) - Today, Southeastern Data Cooperative (SEDC) and Comsquared Systems, Inc. announced the availability of ENHANCED ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SMARTLINK, a new jointly developed interface to compliment their current integrated software modules known as “SmartLinks”.
Integration between SEDC’s signature UPN application, a browser-based software solution designed to manage utility companies’ customer and member information, and Comsquared’s UNISearch® Content Manger, an enterprise-class document workflow and imaging solution advances to new levels. By integrating this combined functionally, UPN® users have become more productive, improved customer service by providing instant access to all member information, and reduced training requirements for SEDC’s utility customer base.
This new feature will significantly enhance the efficiency of Accounts Payable SmartLink users … The main features of this newly enhanced SmartLink module include:
- Automatic electronic capture and filing by UNISearch of the UPN Accounts Payable Purchase order. When UPN users print purchase orders, a copy of each purchase order is automatically sent and stored in UNISearch.
- Automatic data transfer to UNISearch from UPN during Invoice data entry of the Purchase Order number along with Vendor Name, Vendor Number, Invoice Number, Invoice Date and Invoice Amount. Prior to release of this new feature, UPN Purchase Order numbers were not included in this transfer of data.
- DocLink/XL SmartLink for UPN Accounts Payable. With this new SmartLink, users of UPN Accounts Payable and UNISearch can retrieve all documents relating to the UPN Accounts Payable transaction displayed by UPN just by mouse clicking on the “Imaging” menu option in UPN. The UPN Purchase order, Vendor Invoice, Vendor Packing Slip (if scanned and captured by UNISearch) and UPN AP Check will be listed for the user to select and display, fax or Email.
“We’re excited to provide this new capability to our customers, helping to make their business process more efficient,” said Ron Camp, president and CEO for SEDC. “This integration will benefit our customers’ outgoing member service efforts as well as their internal processes.”
Before SmartLinks, end users accessed separate applications to look up customer or vendor related documents such as annual billing histories, service orders, customer correspondence, UPN reports and vendor invoices that have been captured by UNISearch. Now, users are able to simultaneously pull up customer or vendor information and imaged documents from UPN’s inquiry screens. In addition to the new Enhanced Accounts Payable SmartLink, available SmartLink modules include:
- UPN/UNISearch Member Records DocLink SmartLink allowing users to access all member’s information (Service Orders, Correspondence, etc.), in one simple UPN button called “IMAGING”.
- UPN/UNISearch Report SmartLink allows users to save any UPN created report ….for a few days, months or years….your choice, eliminating the need to print and store month end and year end reports.
- With the Service Order IntelliCapture SmartLink, the scanning software reads and records the member number and separator number for each service order; all you have to do is verify the results. Since the service order is typically the largest volume document at the cooperative, IntelliCapture is a huge time saving benefit to even the smallest cooperatives.
“With this new solution integration, SEDC and Comsquared continue to provide unparalleled service to SEDC customers,” said Ron DeRosa, vice president of sales for Comsquared Systems. “As technology continues to evolve, so will the features and benefits of our UNISearch/UPN applications integration.”
